Since we had a team approach to our middle school orientation with the whole middle school family, we sensed that perhaps there were other individual questions that needed answering. So, our staff called parents and asked if they had any further questions. The most frequently asked questions and answers are below. We look forward to serving you this year!

Frequently Asked Questions from Middle School Orientation

1. Will they receive lockers?
Seventh and eighth grade students will, and other grades will be included as space allows.

2. Payment for extended day: when will it be taken out, and how much?
Those payment options are found on www.eagle-academy.com <http://www.eagle-academy.com>

3. Will the students be chaperoned to class?
Yes

4. Will PE be an option?
Yes

5. Will extra credit be given?
That depends on the class and the instructor.

6. Are the teacher’s names on their doors?
Yes

7. Will the students have a bell to exchange class?
Yes, but not the first few days since we will have an altered schedule to review procedures.

8. Will sports be offered through the year?
We intend to begin with basketball, our strongest area. As our school interests may change, please see Coach Poe.

9. Do they go to their homeroom every day?
They go to first period for either math and reading help, or PE and Chorus.
They go to homeroom second period, and travel with homeroom until sixth period.
On the first day and maybe on the second, we will go to an extended homeroom at the first part of the day so that everyone is clear on procedures.

10. How much time will the students be given to get to class?
Two minutes

11. How often can I visit my child?
You may visit your child as you wish, but please schedule visits in advance so we do not interrupt instruction.

12. May I take my child off site to eat lunch?
You may sign your child off campus as the legal guardian, but attendance at class is related to progression from one grade to the next, so be aware of that.
I would suggest to parents that you not take your child off site to eat lunch.

13. Can uniforms be purchased elsewhere?
No
